On 20 August 2026, a bilateral meeting was held at the central office of the Agency for State Financial Control and Combating Corruption of the Republic of Tajikistan between the Deputy Director of the Agency, Talbakzoda Sulaymon Talbak, and the United Nations Independent Expert on the effects of foreign debt and other related international financial obligations of States on the full enjoyment of all human rights, Ms. Attiya Waris.

It was noted that the issue of combating corruption in the Republic of Tajikistan is one of the priority areas of state policy, and our country is taking the necessary measures to strengthen international cooperation in this field, improve mechanisms for preventing corruption, ensure economic security, and strengthen the rule of law.

During the meeting, the parties exchanged views on the implementation of the state anti-corruption policy, modern methods of combating corruption, and the use of modern technologies to prevent this phenomenon. At the same time, responsible officials of the Agency provided specific answers to the expert’s questions concerning the activities of the agency.

Overall, the meeting took place in an atmosphere of mutual understanding, mutual respect, and constructive dialogue. The parties highly appreciated the importance of continuing such contacts to strengthen cooperation between the Republic of Tajikistan and the structures of the United Nations.
